Call for Speakers

(Para português visita a Chamada a oradores)

Update: The call is now closed. Thank you! News soon.

WordCamp Porto is scheduled for May 17th and 18th, being the largest event dedicated to WordPress in Portugal in 2024. We anticipate the presence of over 300 community members, including programmers, designers, content managers, editors, bloggers, and enthusiasts, regardless of their level of knowledge on the platform.

We are excited to organize a comprehensive program of talks and workshops, and you can be one of the speakers at this year’s WordCamp Porto! Being a speaker at a WordCamp is a unique opportunity to share knowledge gained as a WordPress user.

Talks can be presented in portuguese, english, galician or spanish, in one of the following formats:

  • Lightning Talks (10 minutes total)
  • Regular Talks (25 minutes + 5 minutes for Q&A)
  • Workshops (2-4 hours)

We are particularly interested in receiving proposals from speakers representing the diversity of the community, sharing inspiring stories, regardless of the level of experience or background. To guide you, we suggest a list of topics that we consider valuable for the community, but you are free to suggest any other relevant subject:

  • Design, UX, UI
  • WordPress Development
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Content Creation and Editing
  • Marketing
  • SEO
  • Case Studies or Success Stories: Businesses, Agencies, Freelancers, Entrepreneurship
  • Community and Open Source
  • Infrastructure, DevOps, large WordPress installations
  • Themes, Plugins, Solutions to WordPress problems
  • Security
  • Accessibility
  • Performance

Remember that you don’t need to be a professional speaker; any idea will be welcome as long as it is inspiring and related to WordPress. This is an event organized by the community and for the community!

Speaker applications will be open until March 2nd. If your application is selected, you will be entitled to a free ticket to WordCamp Porto and access to a special dinner with other speakers, sponsors, and event organizers.
